04. AnimatedAdvent Calendar
Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with Anya Derevyanko and animate her illustrations for the AR Advent Calendar
a December 2023 exhibition initiated by Sandra Barth (BARBAR studio) in collaboration with Fern.
Using the free Artivive app, the doors can be opened in Augmented Reality to reveal animated illustrations and music from nearly 50 artists and sound designers around the globe.
Large-scale physical installations will be present in cities worldwide, such as Atlanta (Westside Paper), Leipzig (Westwerk), London (McCann London), and Amsterdam (De Hallen). Visitors can interact with all 25 doors on any day during their visit.
Our contribution
With a special affection for dogs, Anya proposed the idea of a puppy popping out of the Christmas gift.
She definitely gave me a cool start for the animation after ending up in five beautiful frames using a limited color palette and bold, elegant shapes.
